-
Children ages four to six have a difficult time managing imaginary fears, which can affect them for the rest of their lives if they don’t learn healthy coping skills early on.
-
A backpack full of a variety of items for the children to learn how to manage their fears, the kit gives tactile, emotional, comfort-based and creative coping skills.

Upon conducting research, every item chosen for the kit has a scientifically proven benefit: it eliminates the child’s fears and gives them healthy coping mechanisms that will benefit them far in the future.
Each item in the package has it’s own monster, and it’s own color palate which corresponds with the product. For example, there is Kiki, who used to be afraid of the dark, but now plays with slime and their color is purple. Each member of the fear team has their own unique imaginary fear, so that the child can relate to them. The other items inside include the coloring book, with crayons (as seen above) a puzzle, a crocheted stuffed monster, and a pack of assorted stickers.

Although the product is sold in some retailers, the best way for parents to learn more and purchase the kit would be a website. Since parents are hesitant to trust services and products when it comes to protecting their child, they will need to have proper and sufficient information to believe in Brave Buddy. The website explains the concept, introduces the fear team, and describes the benefits of each product.
Check out a video of the website. Or view the fully prototyped version here.
Inspired loosely by “Where the Wild Things Are” the advertisement campaign would be centered around the children with one of the “buddies”. As “we all need a little help from our buddies to face our fears” sometimes, this shows the child and the buddy actively working together.
